Q: What is the pet policy?
A: Sea Otter Inn allows pets in select pet friendly rooms. These accommodations must be reserved in advance by calling our reservations department directly at 800-966-6490. They cannot be reserved online. There is a nightly pet fee of $25 for up to two well-behaved pets. Pets must never be left unattended in the guest room, even if they are crated. Dogs must be on a leash at all times when outside of the guest room.
Q: Where can I go to work out? Do you have a pool?
A: The best place for a workout is right across the street from Sea Otter Inn: the world-famous Moonstone Beach Boardwalk, which stretches from Santa Rosa Creek at the south end of Moonstone Beach Drive, to Leffingwell Landing at the north end. You will not likely find a more beautiful place to get your heart pumping than this! Sea Otter Inn also features an outdoor heated swimming pool and spa.
Q: Do you offer AAA, military, or senior discounts?
A: Although we do not have specific discount rates for these segments, we recommend contacting our Reservations Staff at 800-966-6490 to check for the best available rate.
Q: How close is Hearst Castle?
A: Hearst Castle is about 6.5 miles (approximately 10 minutes) north of Sea Otter Inn on Highway 1.
Q: Are Hearst Castle tickets for sale at Sea Otter Inn? What about discounts on tickets?
A: We do not sell tickets for Hearst Castle. As the State of California runs Hearst Castle, we are unable to offer discounts. Tickets can be purchased online at www.hearstcastle.org.
Q: Do you have a taxi service?
A: There is one local taxi service which can be reached at 805-927-4357.
Q: Are there wineries or tasting rooms close by?
A: There are seven wineries in Cambria and San Simeon. Check out the details at www.pacificcoastwinetrail.com. There are also two fun wine tasting shops in Cambria called Wine:Taste and Fermentations. If you're up for a little drive, you can enjoy dozens of wineries and tasting rooms on Highway 46 within 30 minutes of Sea Otter Inn.
Q: What are the hours for breakfast? Is breakfast included with our room?
A: Complimentary breakfast baskets are delivered to guest rooms between 7:45am and 10am and feature local fresh baked pastries, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt parfait, fruit, milk, and orange juice.
Q: Can I request a specific room?
A: Although guests are welcome to request a specific room number, we are never able to guarantee a specific room in advance due to potential unforeseen guest or maintenance issues. Room numbers are assigned at the time of check in and cannot be confirmed prior to arrival. If we are unable to accommodate a specifically requested room number and a guest wishes to cancel for that reason, s/he will be held to our cancellation policy.
